The Discipline of Standards
Week 8 | Phase II
By the middle of the week, your standards have likely been tested.
Maybe work ran late. Maybe you're tired. Maybe something unexpected forced you to adjust your plans. Those moments rarely determine whether you succeed. But they do reveal whether you are protecting the standard or quietly negotiating it.
Before the week gets away from you, ask yourself one honest question:
Have I adjusted my method this week—or have I lowered my standard?
Take five minutes today to complete the Standard Audit in this week's Weekly Order. Review your physical non-negotiable, identify your threshold, and answer: Is my current approach helping me uphold my standard or helping me compromise it?
If this week hasn't gone the way you planned, you still have time to uphold the standard. Start today.
Then revisit this week's Command Brief 008 and reflect on how the Standard Audit exposed where your execution began to slip. The discipline you build this week will shape far more than your physical training.
Stand firm.
