The Discipline of Identity
Week 7 | Phase II
Most men know there is a gap between the identity they present to the world and who they truly are. They feel it when they walk through the front door after a long day. They feel it on Sunday morning. They feel it in the quiet, when no one is around, and the performance ends.
That gap has a cost. It shows up as frustration with no clear source, distance in relationships that should anchor you, and a career that validates you in ways your home never seems to. The longer a man avoids naming it, the wider it grows. And a wide gap does not stay contained to one area — it bleeds into others.
Before you do anything else today, write down one sentence: Who are you when no one is watching? Not who you want to be. Who you actually are right now. Be honest, because this is your true identity. That answer is where this week starts — and it is the question most men spend their whole lives avoiding.
What you do with that answer is what this week's Command Brief is built around. Read it here.
Stand firm.
